Naim, Field Sales Director Italy at Kering Eyewear

From on-field experiences in different sectors to leading the Italian commercial team at Kering Eyewear, Naim has crafted a unique professional pathway defined by determination and vision.

Growing up with commerce at heart

Naim grew up in a small town near Venice and was raised by a Venetian mother and a Somali father. His identity is a result of the unique interplay between these two cultures, a blend that instilled in him, from a young age, an open mind and strong sense of resilience. His connection to the world of commerce began early on. In the summer, as a child, he would accompany his father to market stalls where he worked as a street vendor. Naim recalls: “Those experiences, without me even realizing it at the time, left a mark.”

Since then, he developed a passion for commerce that has never left: “I’ve done many jobs, always in sales,” he explains. He took his first steps in business-to-consumer roles, gaining experience across sectors, from door-to-door sales in telecommunications to renewable energy. Each step was a building block in shaping a long-term, solid, and passionate professional career in sales.

2015 marked a decisive turning point in his career: the beginning of his journey with Kering Eyewear. The company was still in its early days, and Naim had the opportunity to join almost from day one, meeting the first professionals involved in building the company. “At the time, when we introduced ourselves as Kering Eyewear, very few people knew who we were. Looking back now and seeing how far we’ve come, I feel incredibly proud,” he says. “We were ambitious and driven, and today Kering Eyewear is the leader in luxury eyewear.”

After significant experiences as Brand Ambassador and Area Manager, Naim became Field Sales Director for Italy in 2025. Today, he leads a solid team and oversees the expansion of new brands like Maui Jim in the Italian market. “Our structure is dynamic and constantly evolving. Each year, we organize around thirty local events, plus three international events that take us abroad for several weeks.”

One of the biggest challenges in his role is balancing long-term planning and customer relationship management. “Organizing so many events a year requires months of preparation and meticulous attention to detail. You need to be present in the field while also running a well-oiled organizational machine.”

Over ten years, Naim has loved watching the growth of Kering Eyewear and the strengthening of the team. “Our group is very close-knit. Many of the managers working with me today joined along the way: together, we’ve built a strong team spirit.”

Looking ahead, Naim is clear: for anyone pursuing a career in sales, courage and clarity are key. “Listen to yourself and have the courage to embrace change. That’s the advice I’d give to a young person starting out today.”
