Role Mission
The Gucci Senior Director of Public Relations oversees all brand-related (fashion and corporate) traditional and digital PR initiatives, along with influencer and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) management, across the U.S. and Canada, while also supporting local teams in Latin America. This role leads the Gucci Americas Public Relations (PR) team in developing and executing integrated communications strategies that uphold the global brand image and drive business growth across the region.
Key Accountabilities
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Gucci Americas PR team, fostering a high-performance culture and strong collaboration;
- Partner closely with the SVP of Communications to define and drive both short- and long-term PR strategies across the U.S. and Canada;
- Strategic Communications
- Design and implement integrated communication programs that elevate brand image, promote special projects, highlight store openings, brand partnerships, and product launches, with the ultimate goal of generating sales and reinforcing Gucci’s cultural leadership;
- Align strategies with global counterparts, collaborating on press plans, activations, and budgets to ensure consistency and impact worldwide;
- Partner with Gucci Americas and WW PR/Comms teams to support seasonal fashion shows and brand initiatives with cohesive PR strategies;
- Media & Influencer Relations
- Build and sustain relationships with top-tier media, cultural influencers, and thought leaders to maximize Gucci’s visibility and reputation;
- Own relationships with fashion media partners to secure high-quality editorial and innovative brand features across national, local, and digital platforms;
- Lead influencer and KOL strategy, identifying and engaging talent that best aligns with Gucci’s brand values and image;
- Corporate & Executive Communications
- Support internal and corporate communications initiatives across the Americas;
- Partner with the WW Corporate Communications team on executive positioning, corporate narratives, and crisis communications for the region;
- Partnerships & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with merchandising, retail, and digital teams on campaigns, launches, and strategies that drive business objectives;
- Work closely with the WW Entertainment Industry Relations team to maximize exposure through celebrity partnerships and VIP testimonials;
- Partner with Coty, Kering Eyewear, and Gucci Watches & Jewelry to align on launches and explore further opportunities;
- Collaborate with the Special Events team on event strategy, providing communications support;
- Budget & Agency Oversight
- Manage the Gucci Americas PR budget to ensure effective, accountable spending;
- Oversee and engage agency partners to ensure optimal service, alignment, and measurable results.
Key Requirements
- College Degree a plus;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in public relations within the luxury industry with a proven track record of success;
- Excellent relationships with top fashion media and other industry relationships/partners;
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint: Outlook; DMR; Fashion GPS;
- Deep understanding, knowledge and interest in fashion, culture, and art;
- Experience working with, and in support of high profile and visible executives;
- Well-versed in both print and digital media;
- Strong management, communication, and negotiation skills;
- Proven ability to mentor and develop team;
- Blend of analytical and creative skills;
- Strong capacity to adapt and deliver results in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment with competing priorities;
- Domestic and International travel as required.

Salary Range – New York City
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York City, GUCCI includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. In addition, where a candidate falls within the disclosed range estimate may be dependent on the applicable geographic differential associated with the location in which the position may be filled.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $180,000 to $200,000.
