Job Summary
As a merchandiser, your main objective is to act as a regional correspondent by providing valuable insights and detailed recommendations based on store feedback, analysis of sales, local trends, and nuances, as well as your understanding of the market for the full collection for the Middle East store network to the EMEA buying team. You will manage the allocations of what has been bought, by store, and monitor performance to increase sales and achieve sell-throughs, support store directors to drive sales, and train retail teams on the collections.
Job Responsibilities
Provide insights on the product assortment during showroom according to Image and Core offer recommendations, order quantities per store according to purchasing budgets and the needs of the Middle East market to maximize turnover in a sustainable way and meet sell-thru objectives.
Assist in the development of the schedule of in-store collection launches according to deliveries and highlights related to seasonality.
Building relationships with store managers to drive product performance through regular exchanges and in-store presence.
Assist in the preparation of training tools for sales teams on key investments, stock challenges and ‘Image of the Season’ strategies through information packages and in-store presentations.
Perform weekly and monthly reports by collection, by store, by product category and analyze resale rates.
Ensure the follow-up of the implementation of commercial actions in order to improve performance by collaborating with the Visual Merchandising, CRM, Press/Image departments etc.
Propose stock transfers and restocking seasonal according to performance indicators and in partnership with the Distribution Manager
Assist in communication with EMEA merchandising team on performance feedback during the season, produce a performance report by product type, functions/uses, price vs. market/customers/brand at the end of the season.
Support the retail team with regards to store network (openings and events/activations)
Take special orders/requests and submit to EMEA Merchandising team and follow up accordingly.
PROFILE
Higher education Bac+5 (ESC or University)
Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar position.
Fluent in English and/or French, Arabic
Understanding of the Middle East market
Analytical mindset, appetite for numbers
Good command systems including Office package, in particular Excel
